Did you know that music lessons as kids can help adult hearing? Even a year or two of music lessons as a kid helped adults pick up sound waves, which aids in hearing in noisy environments. So if your kids show any interest in music at all (or even if they don't), consider giving them at least some formal musical training. As a private lesson teacher, married to a music major, I supported this already - but now there's yet another scientific reason why it can benefit kids.
